Henry Komansky is Chief Risk Officer with Axcelus Financial Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Ltd. and its affiliates. He also serves as Group Compliance Officer for the Axcelus Financial U.S. headquartered group of companies. In his role as CRO, he is responsible for oversight of compliance, risk and reporting oversight as well as management of outside legal counsel, insurance management and corporate service provider functions. Mr. Komansky is a member of the Axcelus Bermuda Business Acceptance Committee.

Previously Mr. Komansky served as litigation counsel for Hurrion & Associates (Bermuda) Ltd., a boutique litigation firm specializing in trust and life insurance litigation for ultra-high net worth clients. From 2018 to 2020 Mr. Komansky was General Counsel for Northstar Financial Services (Bermuda) Ltd. Earlier, he was a consultant with Oyster Consulting (Bermuda) Ltd., Chief Compliance Officer with Clarien Bank Limited, Director of Compliance at Sun Life Financial (Bermuda), and founding member and Head of Analysis for Bermuda’s Financial Intelligence Agency. He was previously a barrister & attorney with Cox Hallet & Wilkinson in Bermuda.

Mr. Komansky began his career as a prosecutor in Atlantic County, New Jersey, USA and as a Special Agent with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He earned his Doctor of Law degree from Rutgers Law School (New Jersey, USA) and holds a Masters degree from the Vermont Law and Graduate School.
